The Triunfo Sanitation District (TSD) was organized November 12, 1963 as a special district to provide sanitation services for the southeastern portion of Ventura County. The District covers approximately 50 square miles and serves a population of about 30,100. The District provides sewerage services and wastewater treatment, supplies potable water, and treats and sells recycled water.
This chart compares the water we have purchased from the Metropolitan Water District via Calleguas Municipal Water District (to meet customer demand) with our target allocation levels from July 2009 through June 2010. We need to remain within those levels to avoid costly penalties. Your efforts to conserve water will help us do that, and we sincerely appreciate your help.
For the third month in a row, customer water consumption in June fell within the allocation level. As a result, cumulative water purchases from July 2009 through June 2010 are 2.2% below our allocation. As we move through the warm, dry summer months, it is essential that customers continue to do everything possible to use water wisely. Click here for helpful tips on water conservation. Potable Water Provision
In 1993 TSD purchased the Metropolitan Water Company in Oak Park and operates Oak Park Water Service (OPWS). Through OPWS, the District provides potable water service to more than 4,500 households in Oak Park at low rates and improved reliability.
Sewerage
In 1964 TSD partnered with Las Virgenes Municipal Water District (LVMWD) in a Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement to construct, operate, maintain and provide for a regional sewerage system to serve the area within two distinct boundaries.
Recycled Water Sales
TSD produces and resells recycled water, a byproduct of wastewater treatment. The use of this non-potable water for irrigation is beneficial for the environment. Recycled water from the Tapia Treatment Plant in Malibu Canyon is used to irrigate golf courses, green belts, school grounds, parks, homeowner association common areas, and street landscaping.
